March meeting

2020/03/11 19:30 - 21:30
The Meeting House, Riverdale Farm
Address: 201 Winchester Street, Toronto, Ontario, M4X 1B8

Kate Michalska graduated from Victoria Park Secondary School in Toronto but always dreamed of life on a farm. A weaver and spinner, she has nurtured Lincoln Longwool sheep for more than 20 years. Her current flock of about 30 sheep are rotationally grazed, organically and ethically raised on a 200 acre farm near Kingston, Ontario where she lives with chickens, three ducks, two dogs and two cats. She and her husband to also own Lynch Lineback cattle in association with Rob Torr of Toronto. For more information about their work with heritage breeds, see the website www.StIsidoreFarm.net or the St. Isidore Farm Facebook page.

The Lincoln sheep are usually shorn in March so there may be some fresh fleeces available. Kate will bring roving, etc. for sale. If any Guild members would like to have samples of fleece to add to a Breeds Book, or simply for your interest, please let us know and we’ll ask Kate to bring some.
