Sold: Leclerc Fanny Counterbalance Loom – $1000 (Kingston)

  • by

Kingston Handloom Weavers and Spinners (KHWS) has recently been donated a 60” 4- shaft Leclerc Fanny floor loom, which is surplus to our needs. KHWS is offering it for sale for $1,000 (taxes included). A new loom similar to this offer would cost about $6,200 plus delivery.

“Leclerc’s 4 Shaft Counterbalance “Fanny” model Looms have been a favorite of Handweavers for over 60 years. There are literally hundreds in operation thru-out North America and around the world. Compact and solid. Due to the ease of Treadle reach, the “Fanny” is favored by the average weaver for comfort over long weaving sessions. Leclerc’s solid design allows weaving the full range of Fabric including Rugs.” – Leclerc Looms website

The loom (marked F-60-6808 denoting a 60” loom constructed in August 1968) appears to be in good shape, with no missing loom parts. There is a new friction brake with this loom. It is currently un-assembled for easier transport. It comes with a 1”-sectional warp beam, raddle, and 3 reeds (15, 12 and 10 dents). The Fanny back beam folds up for ease of storage.
