The Almonte Fibrefest takes place at two locations — the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum and the Almonte Arena. Visitors can discover demonstrations, vendors, and exhibits; local guilds will demonstrate spinning, knitting, weaving, rug hooking, lace making, smocking and quilting. Vendors and fibre artists from all over Ontario will include spinners, weavers, quilt shops, alpaca farms and more. The Ottawa Valley Button Club will also be selling and exhibiting their button collections. Each day of the festival ends with the Lamb Race, where hundreds of lambs will be thrown over the falls in downtown Almonte, and the owners of the first three to reach the finish line will win fabulous prizes.
Homemade refreshments will be available from The Friends of the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum.
Cost: $5 entry fee
