November Meeting

This month we’ll be hearing from Ruth Hepburn, one of the newest members of our Guild, who has recently moved to Toronto from the UK with her husband. In England, she studied Textile Design at Loughborough University, with a specialism in weaving, and is pursuing a career in the textiles world. She is naturally a very detailed and patient designer, which is reflected in the intricacy of the fabrics she produces; many of her pieces are hand manipulated on the loom to create open and lacy effects. She has also experimented with natural dyeing, woven shibori and tatting. She will present her portfolio of fabrics and give an insight into her design process.
