Making things by hand is a very positive and nurturing thing for anyone to do. Creating the pieces for this exhibition has been healing for both my body and spirit.” Judy is featured in the book Slow Stitch: Mindful and Contemplative Textile Art.

In a round robin format, participants will complete a notebook of samples that illustrate different shrinkage techniques for wool and cotton; “cram and space” techniques using silk warp and overtwisted weft; deflected double weave in wool that creates horizontal ribs; deflected double weave that “poufs” after washing; plain weave and twill using stainless-steel yarns that bend and crinkle; waffle weave alternating with plain weave with seersucker bumps; and other 4-harness techniques. There are still one or two spaces left in For more information or to register, contact dorothy.thomson@gmail.com
